The patrolled beach is great for the whole family. Or, for something different wander across the river heads at low tide to explore the rockpools. There's great fishing, windsurfing, kite surfing and snorkeling. You can also head offshore to explore. Cochrane Artificial Reef, just 2.8 nautical miles north-east of Elliott Heads, is ideal for fishing and scuba diving.
Elliott Heads foreshore offers grassed parkland for walking, bike riding, kite flying, barbecues or just enjoying the fantastic ocean and river views. There's also a playground for the little ones.
Driftwood Cafe and Kiosk serves fresh fish and chips as well as a selection of burgers and snacks. Or, catch the courtesy bus to the Elliott Coastal Club for a game of barefoot bowls and stay for Dinner at the Elliott which serves a rotating menu of delicious meals.
It’s a leisurely 15min drive through productive rural farmland to shops and cafes at Bargara or 20mins to the CBD. Stop off at Tinaberries on your way to pick your own strawberries in the spring, or enjoy fruity ice creams year-round.
